A few things that you may need to get started!
-
Car Seat
- Many now come as a combo with a stroller. Drop by your local fire station to have the installation checked for safety.
-
Stroller
- With so many choices, be sure to do your research. Look for something lightweight that you can manage on your own.
-
Baby Carrier
- Whether you are buying a sling or a high-tech carrier, make sure you try it on before you buy it!
-
A Safe Place To Sleep
- There are many options, from in bed with you to a crib in the other room. Just be open to changing your mind once the baby comes!
-
Plastic Baby Tub
- Most people find it easier to bath the baby in this than a full size bath tub.
-
High Chair
- Your baby isn’t going to be using it in the first few months of life and depending the space you have you may want to wait until you really need it.
-
Baby Gate
- This is another purchase that can wait until your baby becomes more mobile.
-
Baby Swing
- Some babies love them and some can’t stand them. Make sure you try it before you buy it so that you know your baby will like it.
-
Playpen
- Great for travel, it can be set up and put away quickly.
-
Rocking Chair or Glider Rocker
- Relaxing for both you and your baby.
-
Diapers
- Cloth or disposable, make sure to explore both options to find the one most suitable for you.
-
Diaper Bag
- Many styles and colors to choose from, look for functionality.
-
